Colossians 3:23 - 24 : And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord,
And not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ.

CHRISTIAN PUPPETRY is done for the Lord, not to seek applause and rewards from man. Our goal and main purpose is to minister God's Word.

As a potential Christian Puppeteer, you must ask yourself the following questions:

1. Have I asked the Lord if this is a ministry He wants me to do for Him? Don't join a puppet team "just for fun." Be serious about this ministry. You can be a vessel to be used by God in this ministry just like any other minister that God chooses to work for Him.

2. Does my time schedule allow me to attend the practices and performances?

3. Will I strive to do my best at all times, even if it means extra studying on my part outside of practices?

4. Will I always show loyalty, obedience, and respect for the Puppet Director and his/her authority over me?

5. Will I strive to increase my spiritual growth through Bible reading, prayer, and church attendance and do my part in preserving the unity of the puppet team as well as praying for every performance? Pray for the puppet ministry.

6. Will I do my part in assisting in all set-ups and take-downs of all equipment before and after practices and performances?

IT IS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO KEEP THE CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION OPEN BETWEEN YOU AND GOD AND YOUR PUPPET DIRECTOR.

There are certain rules that should be established in the beginning, that will avoid later problems. They are as follows:

1. The puppet team will meet from 7 pm to 9 pm every Thursday evening at Old Bethel UMC. ALL PUPPETEERS SHOULD BE ON TIME. Additional rehearsals may be called prior to a performance.

2. Any puppeteer who has to miss a rehearsal for any reason must notify the puppet directors far in advance as possible. Same goes for performances. Failure to notify the puppet director in advance of any absence may result in suspension from the team.

3. Do not bring visitors to rehearsals without prior permission of the director.

4. Excessive absence from puppet practice will result in suspension form the team.

5. All puppeteers are expected to attend services of Old Bethel UMC.
